Kevin Moran
CEO and Founder
Kevin is a Florida native who grew up in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Merritt Island in 2000. His path to Tetra Horizon was anything but traditional. After earning his GED, Kevin worked mostly hard labor jobs before graduating from Brevard Community College in 2011 with certifications in firefighting and EMS. His decision to pursue a career in fire and EMS reflected a desire to help others that has stayed with him throughout his career. But in the end, his entrepreneurial spirit won out, and Kevin started a successful lawn and pool service.
Cannabis had already been a part of Kevin’s life for many years when Florida's medical marijuana program became law in 2016. In it, Kevin saw an opportunity to be part of what he called the state's "green rush." So, in 2017, he partnered with his friend Henry to open Green MD, a small medical marijuana office in Merritt Island that eventually expanded to Palm Bay. The business was growing quickly when Henry was diagnosed with colon cancer at just 30 years old. He passed away in 2018, and the tragic loss changed the course of both Kevin's life and the business they had started together.
But Kevin wasn't ready to walk away from medical cannabis. Along with a colleague from Green MD, he decided to give it one more shot. That shot became Tetra Horizon, which officially opened its doors April 20th, 2018.
What started in Titusville expanded to Merritt Island, and then Palm Bay, and most recently Cocoa Beach. But Kevin didn’t set out to build the biggest medical marijuana company in Florida. His goal was much closer to home; to build the best medical marijuana clinic in Brevard County. From the beginning, Tetra Horizon has focused on patient education and quality of care, not patient volume. Quality, not quantity has remained a guiding principle.
What started as a business venture quickly became something so much more personal for Kevin as he saw how many people Tetra Horizon was helping. Kevin also strongly believes in taking care of the people who take care of Tetra's patients. Most of the team members have been with the company for more than five years and building that sense of family has become one of the things that Kevin is most proud of.
Kevin dedicates Tetra Horizon to Henry, whose friendship and belief in the possibilities of medical cannabis helped set everything in motion. It's a reminder he carries with him every day that life is too short to wait. Work hard, play hard, and make the most of it.
